The Fall/ Winter Staples Every Wardrobe Needs!

As the leaves begin to change colors and the temperature drops, it's time to refresh your wardrobe for Fall/Winter 2023! This season brings a delightful mix of classic staples and exciting new trends. Whether you're a fashion-forward trendsetter or someone who prefers timeless pieces, this guide will help you navigate the must-have fashion items to keep you stylish and cozy during the colder months.

Turtlenecks
This basic never goes out of style and is a key layering piece during the cooler months. Turtleneck tops are not only practical for colder weather but also incredibly versatile. They can be layered under dresses, paired with skirts, or worn with jeans for a chic and polished look. Have fun layering them!

Strong Shoulders
Well, this trend is nothing new. These '80s structured shoulder pads are making a major comeback, looking more XXL than ever. Last year, we saw strong shoulders on the catwalks of big brands, such as Saint Laurent. However, powerful, and prominent shoulders will not only be present in blazers, as was the case in the first place, but also in dresses and sweaters. I was truly won over by the designs I saw by Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, Courrèges, and Balenciaga for the upcoming season. Be ready for a powerful look when embracing the shoulder pad!

Oversized Knit Sweaters
Of course, fall and winter wouldn't be complete without cozy knitwear. Oversized sweaters is a basic that is still on trend. Opt for neutral tones or rich autumnal colors to stay on-trend and to easily pair with all your statement pieces.

Skirts Layered over Pants
Although the 2000s trends seem to be gradually fading from the catwalks, a final stylistic expression remained for the sake of nostalgia! Skirts were layered over pants in matching colors and tones at Fendi, Givenchy, and Chanel; this emblematic fashion era lives on!

Black Overcoats

Overcoats go without saying when it comes to fashion during the chilly months. This year, the bigger and longer, the better. Try to choose a good overcoat, as it is the main investment this season and which you will be able to use for many years. Feel cool and cozy at the same time. Opt for black, as it goes with everything.

All Leather
Leather never goes out of style, and for F/W 23, not only are we incorporating leather into our looks, but it’s also often taking over our entire look! Consider leather trousers, skirts & blazers for a chic and edgy aesthetic.
This season, the leather sets came to give the talk.

Tartan
Plaid is a timeless fall pattern that's making a strong resurgence. From plaid blazers to plaid skirts, incorporating this pattern into your outfits will give you a classic and sophisticated vibe. The ever-popular Scottish print moved away from its classic punk/grunge aesthetic and covered full looks on the runway.

Rich Jewel Tones

Jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, and deep burgundy are the go-to colors for F/W 23. Incorporate them into your wardrobe through dresses, blouses, or accessories to stay fashion-forward. And most important is RED.. In several shades, this color promises to be almost mandatory in your looks. It should be noted that you can’t find it so much in clothes, but in accessories, namely bags.

Beige in all of its Shades
I love monochromatic beige for a luxe look. A range of beige shades was used to elevate layering to become a winter fashion statement at Michael Kors, Hermès, and Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. When you want to look chic and not over think it, just layer all your beige!

Florals

Floral patterns are generally associated with fresh and light summer dresses. But this autumn/winter we see that this pattern will continue into the colder months. Flowers were the center of attention on the fall/winter 2023/24 runways. Transition this print into Fall/ Winter by selecting florals with a darker background color, such as black or gray. This was doner beautifully by Richard Quinn Fall 2023 Ready To Wear.

Statement Boots
Boots are always essential for winter months. This coming season they won’t only be functional, but also a fashion statement! Be ready for boots that are high tops and play with the leather and extra fabric. From the simplest ones to those with zippers and pockets, you should take the opportunity to invest in this. I’m a huge fan of these by Givenchy.

Faux Fur Accessories
Embrace the luxury of faux fur accessories, the quality these days is on par with the real thing. Amazingly soft and cruelty free! I love the elegant look of faux fur scarves, gloves, and even furry handbags to add a touch of glamour to your outfits.

Chunky Earring
Jewelry is absolutely necessary in any winter look. When you are dressed head-to-toe in fabric you need to break it up with a little bling. I’ve always loved statement pieces so I am happy to see the return of chunky earrings! I love what I saw by Schiaparelli @ Women’s Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2023
Be sure to take all these tips into account when you start shopping for Fall/Winter 2023! Whether you're leaning towards classic staples or experimenting with bold trends, remember that confidence is the key to pulling off any look.
